The idea for a Blytheville City Manager has been tossed around now for more than a decade. It's no secret that what we've got isn't working. So a couple of us decided to stop talking about it and do something.
This campaign is bigger than any one person and we'd love to share the stage. If you agree and you'd like to share your story or insight, let us know. We'd love to highlight your perspective!
I started as a lifeguard at the city pool during my college summers, moving to the city's HR department, until finishing my tenure with the city as the Director of Parks & Recreation.
I know the business of city government (the good and the bad).
I know that feeling of solving a problem that will make my friends and neighbors' lives better.
And I know the feeling of defeat when good ideas are shot down by bad politics.
I first ran for City Council in 2018, when it became clear that what we had wasn't working. Since then, I have proudly served my ward; but have all too often gotten bogged down in politics.
The truth is, I believe in two simple things:
1) I want to live somewhere cool and I want Blytheville to be that place.
2) Blytheville doesn't have a single problem that hasn't already been solved elsewhere. We just need a government that willing and able to affect change.
